We offer an alternative solution to parents and guardians by providing unaccompanied minors with a safe, reliable carer who is well-briefed about their health requirements and interests, and can provide child-friendly health and safety information.



Who we service

Travelling Angels operates a chaperone service for children during their flights and in transit.

Children need to travel unaccompanied for lots of reasons including:

• School holidays visiting family and friends
• Access visits between parents/guardians
• Business people sending children to school or to meet them on
   extended business trips – including overseas!

Travelling Angels is serious about getting it right for you and your child.

We book the flights for you, select an “Angel” to chaperone the children and provide a safe & fun environment to them whilst in our care.

Pre-Flights

We choose our travelling angels carefully, requiring child care experience, first-aid qualifications and a friendly, organised approach.

We also undertake a comprehensive screening process.

The Angels will be recognised by their uniform and photo ID, and will meet parents/guardians at the airport 45 minutes prior to each domestic flight.

They will have the child’s flight details, profile, additional snacks and toys (if required) for the children. Parents can remain with the children till the flight’s departure or may wish to leave once the documentation has been completed.

Safety

As an ex-crew member, I have been responsible for ‘unaccompanied minors’ and as a result have trained my children on the safety rules, emergency procedures and other requirements on board the aircraft. What I do know, however, is that it’s difficult to ensure that children get adequately briefed and enjoy the experience.

Once all children have been signed in, the Angel will run through a child-friendly “Safety Demonstration”. Each child will be given a coloring-in manual with the emergency evacuation information to learn and absorb in a fun way.

Since children dehydrate almost 3 times faster on board a plane, it is also important for them to drink regularly.

In Flight

Once on board, all the children will be seated together with the Angel. During the flight, the Angel ensures each child is safe, happy and fed. In the event of any emergencies, it is the Angel’s responsibility to get them all off the aircraft.

Arrival of Flights - Collections

Once the aircraft lands and the passengers disembark, the Angel meets nominated contacts at a pre-arranged spot and verifies ID before hand-over: In the event of a person not being present for the pick up of a child, the parent/guardian could incur a fee of $50.00 (after 20 minutes) for every 5 minute delay or there part of. The parent/guardian shall also be contacted for further instruction, which could include flying back to the departure point, (at a cost to the parent/guardian).

In an Emergency & Ground Staffing

Travelling Angels will also have ground crew in certain location/cities to assist with the boarding and disembarking of the children and/or should a child’s parent/guardian be delayed. The child will remain with the ground crew, in the security zoned area, until the parent/guardian arrives or further instructions are obtained from the relevant source.
